Artist Statement

Working primarily in charcoal, I use the rawness of monochrome to explore the evolution of lifestyle and quiet progression of identity. My practice centers on recreating moments that reflect growth - personal, cultural, and generational.

Charcoal allows me to strip away distraction and focus on contrast, mirroring the tension between past and future. Through layered textures and deliberate mark-making, the absence of color becomes intentional. It emphasizes structure, movement, and emotion, inviting the viewer to project their own experiences into the work.

My goal is for the viewer to recognize themselves within these transitions - to feel both the weight of where they've been and the momentum of where they are going.
